What is Kundalini Yoga?
Kundalini is the 'nerve of the soul'. By doing Kundalini Yoga we aim to awaken that nerve so that you can begin to truly know yourself. Kundalini Yoga is known as the yoga of awareness - through a mixture of postures, movement, breath work, hand seals, body locks, mantras and meditation, your awareness of yourself will grow.
Unlike other forms of yoga, we don't focus on perfecting postures, instead we work to align body, mind and soul through balancing the glandular system, strengthening the nervous system and harnessing the energy of the mind and the emotions.
Kundalini Yoga can be done by anyone. All you need is to be able to breathe!

Balancing The Chakras

What? In this new Kundalini Yoga class we will focus on ‘Balancing the Chakras’. Using a mixture of postures and movement, pranayama (breath work), mudras (hand positions), bandhas (body locks), mantras and meditation, we will work to clear and balance the centres of energy and consciousness (the chakras) to maximize the functioning of mind, body and spirit. Kundalini Yoga is a yoga for the age that we have recently moved into, the Aquarian Age. Now, more than ever, we will need to go into and have an awareness of ourselves. Kundalini Yoga is a fast-track to that awareness.
While other yoga practices primarily focus on the physical body and perfecting postures, in Kundalini Yoga we focus instead on bringing the mind, body and spirit together so that we can truly know ourselves.

Week 1 - First (Root) Chakra - security and survival
Week 2 - Second Chakra – creativity
Week 3 - Third (Navel) Chakra – action & balance
Week 4 - Fourth (Heart) Chakra – love & compassion
Week 5 - Fifth (Throat) Chakra – communicating the truth
Week 6 - Sixth Chakra (Third Eye) – intuition, wisdom & identity
Week 7 - Seventh (Crown) Chakra – humility & vastness
Week 8 - Eight Chakra (The Aura) – radiance
